Terms and Conditions
Please read these terms carefully before submitting a nomination for the Student Impact Awards.
1. Eligibility and Entry
- Geographical Scope: The Awards are open exclusively to nominees based in Ireland and Northern Ireland.
- Cost: There is no charge to enter the Student Impact Awards.
- Authority: The Student Impact Awards is a programme and event of AMLÉ. All decisions made by AMLÉ regarding the awards process and results are final.
- Deadlines: Entries must be submitted by the publicized closing date. AMLÉ reserves the right to disqualify any entries received after this deadline.
2. Judging and Adjudication
- Appointment: All nominations will be assessed by a panel of judges appointed for the purpose by the President of AMLÉ.
- Discretion: Awards are made entirely at the discretion of the judges. Judges are under no obligation to issue an award in circumstances where they determine that no candidate meets the standards required for that award.
- Announcements: Only shortlisted nominees will be officially announced. AMLÉ is not required to provide individual feedback or notifications to nominees who are not selected for the shortlist.
3. Privacy and Data Processing
AMLÉ acts as the data controller and primary processor of all data submitted by nominators.
- Access: Details submitted will be held and processed by AMLÉ staff and the specific judges allocated for adjudication.
- Purpose of Processing: Details are processed specifically to identify and select winners, communicate with shortlisted nominees, commission physical awards, and prepare materials for the ceremony.
- Publicity: The names and Students' Union affiliations of shortlisted nominees and winners only will be published on official channels and included in ceremony materials.
4. Data Retention and Deletion
- Non-Shortlisted Nominees: All records relating to nominees who are not shortlisted will be destroyed no later than six months after the conclusion of the awards ceremony.
- Winners and Shortlisted Nominees: To facilitate a historical record of the awards, AMLÉ will retain the name, Students' Union affiliation, award category, and prize transmission records indefinitely.
5. Consent and Communication
- Nominator Responsibility: You must seek the consent of the person(s) you are nominating before submitting their details.
- Direct Contact: AMLÉ will make contact with shortlisted nominees prior to the conclusion of the awards and may invite them to attend the awards ceremony.
- Status Notification: If a nominee has not been contacted by 14 April 2026, they should assume they have not been shortlisted on this occasion.
